Nov 6, 13, Dec 4, 11: Milwaukee Cultural Educator Series

Created to pass on Afro-Latino musical traditions directly from cultural elders and masters to Milwaukee cultural arts educators through oral teaching and praxis, this series is for drum, dance or cultural educators to deepen their knowledge and teaching tool sets of Puerto Rican Bomba and Cuban Rumba rhythms and variations. Participants will learn or review technical and cultural knowledge and gain practical tools to educate their own students, including numerous variations of each rhythm, songs and take-home song booklets, historical context, and group practice. Tuition is generously sponsored by the Wisconsin Arts Board with support from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.

For ages 18+, this Monday night workshop series is for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. Drum, sing and dance to Afro-Colombian and Afro-Puerto Rican rhythms. No experience required! REGISTER
